The cost of "Living-in" with employers
How and where I live: 1. According to my work permit, i must live at my employers' home. I pay $325 per month for my room in their house. (I share the kitchen with my employers, so how do I eat dinner when the family is busy preparing their own meal?) 2. On weekends, I want to be able to rest and cook my own food. To do this, I share a basement with 4 other friends. I pay 200/month. My question: 1. For the $525, I can share a better housing with a friend- a place where I can go home to after a day of nannying/ housekeeping/cooking. The live-in caregiver makes this impossible. Why?
